Z1 Interstate Warfare News: MAIN EVENT…. Team ZERO1 vs. Team EPW
MAIN EVENT: 6-MAN ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH
Team ZERO1 (South Australia) vs. Team EPW (Western Australia)
TEAM CAPTAIN: ‘Jag’ Hartley Jackson
‘Jag’ brings 14+ years of experience around the world to Team ZERO1 and is a no brainer for team captain. He was the head trainer of the original EPW roster who began in 2001 and therefore knows more than anyone what it takes to defeat opponents of this calibre. His only perceived weakness could be age as Team EPW are younger, stronger and perhaps hungrier. In saying that, Jackson has shown a more intense and motivated side of himself over the past 6 months, looking as good as he ever has. It will be interesting to see whether this form continues at INTERSTATE WARFARE.
Bruce ‘Havok’ Mills
Like his long time partner and rival Hartley Jackson, ‘Havok’ brings a wealth of experience to the team as he too was a pioneer of the modern Australian wrestling movement back in the late 90’s. Mills is known for his take-no-prisoners attitude and hard hitting style which earned him the tag of the ‘Master of Mayhem’ earlier in his career. Mills should prove valuable in overcoming the abilities of mammoths like Marcius Pitt and Chris Vice who are yet to face an opponent with as much brawling experience and sheer power.
The star of the team is former Australian National Champion Robby Heart who tends to perform best against larger opponents. This should work for him as he takes on a team consisting purely of heavyweights. Heart’s daredevil style and ‘never die’ attitude combined with his recent victory over EPW team captain Marcius Pitt, makes him perhaps the most dangerous participant in this match. After being screwed over for the Championship against NSW’s Ryan Eagles at WRESTLE RAMPAGE, Heart will be keen to make a statement on behalf of his home state of South Australia. EPW must exploit his size disadvantage if they are to keep Heart at bay.
TEAM CAPTAIN: Marcius Pitt
The current and perhaps most dominant EPW Champion of all time will be leading his Western Australian team onto the battlefield. Don’t let Pitt’s record in ZERO1 fool you as he is a world-travelled athlete who has out-muscled every opponent that he has ever faced, regardless of size. Many experts have touted Pitt as the next Australian break-out star once he finds himself in the ring. At WRESTLE RAMPAGE we certainly saw a more vicious and confident version of Pitt who will no doubt be looking for a breakout performance on foreign soil come January 12th.
‘The Smashing Machine’ Chris Vice
Displaying similar attributes to his comrade Marcius Pitt, ‘The Smashing Machine’ has never been one to make friends in wrestling and instead finds solace in causing pain to others. Although he has struggled statistically speaking, he too has world experience and being the largest man in this match, will be a tough obstacle for Team ZERO1. From his actions at WRESTLE RAMPAGE, it is clear that Vice is desperate for attention and there may be no better opportunity than January 12th to achieve that.
Marshall is the most experienced member of his team, racking up several tours of the USA wrestling against and defeating some of the world’s best talent. The always controversial skinhead has a high threshold for pain and is near impossible to keep down. A main advantage for Marshall would be the fact that none of his ZERO1 opponents have faced him before and therefore will be entering new territory with the agile big man. The former multi-time EPW Champion has faced some motivation issues over the past year in his hometown of Perth but is back and hungry for South Aussie blood.
