August 12th’s GROUND ZERO the final event to be held in our St. Clair home…

July 8, 2017

In 2014, WRESTLE RAMPAGE seeked a new home. By August we had found the one. Woodville’s St. Clair Recreation Centre had been a fixture in the heart of the western suburbs for over 50 years and it was now to become the home of professional wrestling in South Australia.

The inaugural event was held on a Sunday, attended by WWE head of talent Canyon Ceman and then head coach Bill DeMott. One of the features of the card was a women’s match between Jessie McKay (now Billie Kay) and KC Cassidy (now Peyton Royce). The phenomenal match would directly result in their signing with the WWE. The main event between Jonah Rock & Damian Slater was one for the ages. The two went to war over the Australian National Championship until Jonah Rock would come out with his first piece of national gold. The WWE took notice and 18 months later, Damian Slater was signed for the WWE Cruiserweight Classic.

In the 3 years that St. Clair has been our home, we have seen some of the best professional wrestling ever held on Australian soil. From the wars between TMDK and The Brotherhood, to the rise of Australia’s next generation of talent, many will be sad to see it go. But when one door closes, another opens, and we look forward to announcing the news of our next venture!

On August 12th at GROUND ZERO, we will say goodbye to St. Clair Recreation Centre in true Wrestle Rampage fashion, by witnessing a war between 4 of the very best. The TMDK dream team of Damian Slater & Jonah Rock will battle ‘Big & Gorgeous‘ of Big Willy & Gorgeous Greg in an epic Tag Team Grudge Match. Make sure to buy your tickets via the link below and support Australia’s best professional wrestlers as they farewell the latest chapter in South Australian wrestling history.
